Gaza: Informed sources from Palestine indicated on Wednesday that an extension of the current humanitarian truce between Hamas and Israel is likely to be officially announced later in the day. The anonymous source informed Xinhua that Hamas has compiled a new list containing the names of 20 Israeli hostages, intending to present it to Qatari and Egyptian mediators to facilitate the extension of the truce for at least two additional days.

The same source revealed that Hamas has expressed its willingness to prolong the truce further, potentially releasing more hostages currently held in the Gaza Strip. Simultaneously, Israeli media reports suggest that there is an "initial" agreement to extend the ceasefire, with the current truce set to expire on Thursday.

Israel has previously stated that the truce's extension could be considered if Hamas continues the release of at least 10 Israeli hostages per day. The negotiations between the involved parties continue amid efforts to maintain a humanitarian pause in the ongoing conflict.
